In stark contrast to their current pared back pop, Threads is raw and driven indie rock from Minnesota based Now, Now.
I’m loving their copious use of delay to create dream like drones which shimmer above a guitar base that you’d be forgiven for calling outdated. It’s an almost nostalgic sound. KC’s light yet sincere vocals keep the record from falling towards grunge and make listening to this album a youthful escape.
Now, Now play the Dome in Tuffnell Park London on Monday 14th May along with Arkansas 80’s influenced duo, Joan (they would probably have featured here a couple of months back if I’d had my act together then!). You can also catch them at a number of UK dates over the coming weeks.
If you liked Threads, check out Moving On by short-lived Glastonbury band In Grattitude.
